What TaskNB is — and isn't

TaskNB is a meeting place. People post tasks, trades people reply with quotes, and the person who posted chooses who to hire.

TaskNB is not a party to the agreement you reach. We don't employ the trades people, supervise the work, set prices, or guarantee the quality, safety or legality of anything offered. We don't verify licences, insurance or backgrounds.

Checking who you're dealing with is your job. Ask for whatever licences and proof of insurance the work calls for.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract. The service is for tasks in New Brunswick.

You're responsible for your account and what happens on it. Keep your password to yourself.

Posting a task

Describe honestly what you need. Don't post other people's contact details, anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to post.

Worth repeating: an open task's page is public and can be indexed by search engines. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what appears there.

You can edit a task while it's open. Once you accept a quote the description is part of what was agreed, and it can no longer be changed.

Quoting and being hired

Trades people send quotes; they can't assign a task to themselves. Only the person who posted can accept a quote.

An accepted quote forms an agreement between the customer and the contractor. TaskNB is not part of it.

Payment for the work happens directly between you. TaskNB takes no commission and never holds your money.

Subscriptions

The free plan allows 3 accepted tasks per period. Beyond that, a paid subscription is required.

Subscriptions are billed in Canadian dollars by Stripe, plus 15% HST. They renew automatically until cancelled.

You can cancel any time from your account. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for; we don't refund part-used periods unless the law requires it.

If we change prices, we'll tell you in advance.

What's not allowed

• Impersonating someone, or giving false information.
• Posting anything illegal, hateful, harassing or deceptive.
• Harvesting other people's information, including by scraping.
• Working around the service's limits, including accept limits.
• Using the service to send unsolicited messages.

Your content

What you post stays yours. By posting it you give us the right to display and distribute it as part of running the service — which, for open tasks, includes showing it publicly and letting search engines index it.

You remain responsible for what you post.

Reviews

Reviews must reflect a real experience. We may remove ones that are plainly false, abusive, or posted in exchange for something.

Limits on our liability

The service is provided as is. We work to keep it running, but we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

To the extent the law allows, TaskNB isn't liable for disputes, losses or damages arising from an agreement between a customer and a contractor, or from work done or not done.

Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that can't be waived, including under consumer protection legislation.

Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or harms other people. You can close yours whenever you like.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the laws of Canada that apply there.
